I'm ready to quit my job

Yes, it's a plum job, but I'm so sick of the attitude around here. I have no idea how to even go about it. I need to look for another job first. I don't want to quit and have no options. I'm just so frustrated and concerned about the reprecussions. Any advice? Keep in mind that I work for family...

Since you work for family, can you talk to them about that attitude problem?

No, they've always been this way. These are people who have gotten kicked out of church congregations for they way they act. If that's not a big enough slap in the face then I don't know what would be. They're the types that believe everyone else is wrong and they're they only people who know better.

If you can afford to be without a job for awhile financially, I'd say just go for it. No job is worth the stress if it has you feeling that sick of it. On the other hand, having found myself unable to get another job now that I want/need one, I'd be sure to have something else lined up if your family needs your income.

In the meantime ((hugs)) from me too.

{{{{Autumn}}}} Yikes! Cut your ties. I'm sure in the job market there you can find another job. You're in construction right? Am I wrong in thinking that's a good place to be right now with all the reconstruction going on?

Oh yeah, I browsed through some of the want ads yesterday and I think I would have a pretty good chance of finding something else. After thinking about it though, I'm going to talk to my uncle and see what his plans are for the future of the business. If he's going to keep it going once my grandparents are no longer working, if he'll make me a partner or something like that then I'll probably stick around. Or if he sells it and is willing to give me some portion of the profit, then that might be incentive enough to stick around too. My grandparents are both nearly 80 years old, so I don't think they'll be working very many more years. I always just assumed my uncle would continue with the business, but lately I started wondering why he would. He's nearly 50, has extensive investments, and very time consuming hobbies. Anyway, I suppose I can suffer through if there will be a pay off in the end. If not, then I'm going to start making other plans.
